Official announcement: October 1, 2026. Hamilton has introduced the American Classic Cushion Mechanical, a six-reference collection inspired by the brand’s Cushion Plain and Cushion Engraved watches of 1926.
A century-old shape, rebuilt for today
The collection is offered in 30 mm × 30 mm and 34 mm × 34 mm case sizes. Both are 8.1 mm thick and pair a cushion-shaped stainless-steel case with a sapphire crystal, an exhibition case back and a small-seconds display at 6 o’clock. Water resistance is officially rated to 5 bar.
Hamilton’s hand-wound H-42 calibre is based on the ETA 7001. The brand specifies a 57-hour power reserve and a Nivachron balance spring. Dial treatments include Roman numerals and stylized square Arabic numerals, while one version adds a yellow-gold-colour PVD coating to the steel case.
Official Canadian pricing and availability
Hamilton Canada currently lists the stainless-steel references at CA$1,410 and the yellow-PVD reference at CA$1,560. The product pages are marked “Available soon” as of October 4, 2026. Those figures and that status come from Hamilton’s Canadian site; they are not secondary-market prices and do not establish future availability or resale value.

The most interesting part of this release is not simply the Art Deco styling, but the decision to keep the proportions compact and the movement hand-wound. For Canadian buyers, the practical comparison is wrist fit: a 30 mm or 34 mm square watch can wear differently from a round watch with the same nominal width. Trying both sizes before buying matters more than assuming the larger reference will automatically be the better fit.
